Youth in Arts & Sankofa Conclude Media Arts Project!

Youth in Arts and Sankofa concluded their Media Arts 4-week project with Leave Out Violence. The youth had an opportunity to present the Public Service Announcements and received certificates for their dedication to this project.

Sankofa Girls Group - Music Writing Workshop with Ankita

The process of writing lyrics, perhaps more than any other discipline in music, is very personal to the writer. Everyone has a different approach, and what will work well for one lyricist will not necessarily work for another.

Youth got an opportunity to work with Ankita (actress & writer) on a workshop series that involved writing and recording their own song.

Sankofa Girls Group - Ladies Night Out

The Sankofa Girls Group celebrated the last day of summer program by enjoying a night out in town. 

The evening consisted of dinner, a trip to Sephora for some pampering and a movie. 

It's sad to see the summer end but we're excited for the new school year to start!
